The two numbers represent the Protein and Fat percentages of the food. Inukshuk 26/16 has 26% protein and 16% fat. Our formulas correspond to the increasing needs of dogs as they work harder. This common ingredient base allows the dog to move up or down within the Inukshuk product range without any digestive upset.

Protein has several roles in a dog's body. Two out of four of my dogs are on the 26/16 formula (my other two are on the 30/26). My Swiss White Shepherd had to be moved to the lower formula because she gained so much weight on the 30/26 (she gets 1.5 cups a day). She does much better on the 26/16, and the exercise has helped get rid of the extra weight she put on. Finding the right food that works for multiple dogs can be quite tricky. I think we landed on a good one!

I looked and tried a handful of foods for my dog (as well as ran tests) for his stomach/stool issues. All checked out well in terms of testing, but he just could not get on a food that agreed with him. We started with Pro Plan per so many people and breeders suggestions, and he did well on the puppy formula. Once we realized it was not going to work, someone recommended Inukshuk because their own dogs couldn't tolerate Pro Plan and did great on this. It was the easiest food transition I have ever seen a dog have and he is thriving on it!

I have used this food in the past when you could only get it shipped in from Canada - my dogs always had great coats, lots of energy and lean solid muscle mass when they were on it. Plus they loved it - never a morsel left at feeding time. So glad it now available on Chewy!

As a vet tech, nutrition is very important to me. As a vet tech, price also factors in. ;) I have three hard working Border Collies. They adore this food, great nutrition and price.
